Framing service
Art nailed to a door always appeals. Hasty, honest, urgent. But, until I get organised enough to source a decent iron nail I offer a framing service.
Glass can get in the way – it protects the print but the loss of texture, its effect on colour and the glare can out-way that benefit. It’s a barrier I’ve now decided against – at least as the default option. So framed prints are now dry-mounted, floating in a deep, but slim frame.
There’s a conservationist sawmill and joinery I use has an abundance of sustainably sourced, often reclaimed, english oak. It’s beautiful. There will occasional be knots, dings or saw marks. If you are lucky.
I do what I can to avoid glues. I’ll use panel pins – hidden under the surface with dot of Diane’s bee’s wax. Bless her.
Back boards and such will be recycled board.
Caring for your print
Like galleries and museums alike, hanging pieces in direct sunlight is best avoided. If you wanted your print hung in a bathrooms or a room of very high humidity are better off going for a glazed frame. Get in contact if that’s the case.
Painted frames
I’ll soon be offering painted frames, I think.
Bespoke
If you’ve any particular fancies, I’ll aim to accommodate – please just get in touch.
